If it is the flex plate, usually they just crack. Don't know if warming up would affect that or not.

If the trans was rebuilt, the torque converter should have been replaced with a new one.

If it wasn't replaced then that would be a real good place to start!

i believe you helped a great deal i was hoping it was motor related and all the feed back i am getting it is been narrowed down to the 2 things you may believe might be the issue. im just not looking forward to helping in the removal of the tranny. because its one of the biggest that ford makes for this truck.

Yeah, they are heavy! I took one out of a 4x4 by myself a few weeks ago. I used a floor jack and a lot of foul language! LOL!

If the trans is under warranty I'd bring it in and let them look at it

I checked the plate I don't see a crack but that doesn't mean their isn't one. But I do have a small vibration that I haven't noticed before

The only one that I've ever seen cracked had two cracks that connected three of the bolt holes where it bolted to the crank, all the torque convertor bolt holes were undamaged.

okay so after i checked the plate for cracks thru the inspection plate i left the plate off let the truck warm up for 1 hour in the yard then took it for a 40 mile drive and the dam thing never made a noise. so i am beside my self. from everything i've been told here and from friends im going to use the truck, if it happens again i will replace both the converter and the plate. thanks all the help on here
