Poll- Repro Push Bar or Brush Guard ?? (Feeler Thread)

A couple of years ago, fellow FTE member impalaslayer encountered an OEM push bar in the JY and many expressed interest in buying it off of him.

The purpose of his thread is to gauge the interest in either a close reproduction of OEM push bar (or "cactus pusher" as JBG called it) or a more typical push bar like what was used on the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard. There are a couple of FTE members who need to determine whether it is worth the investment (time, tooling, and materials) in reproducing one or the other depending on how much interest is generated.

In addition to the poll, please specify your preference with a post in the thread!

Here are a few pics for reference:

I like the one on my truck. Soon,it will be removed, cleaned up and sent away to get a rechroming. Makes these trucks look badass!Wish I knew the name of the company that made it..

I,myself, like the aftermarket one you posted..

I like both very much. My buddy got his factory one chromed and it looks so mean. But I went with the dukes of hazard one. I would like it chrome but i'm sure you guys will leave that to the buyers.

Well I like the OEM one so much I searched for years and now have 1 on each truck (ol silver and ol blue), sold an extra 1 for alot lot less than I should of.....

Gave another extra one to a fellow FTE member for helping me with my truck, and have a spare in the shed. The Bronco is a nice idea IMO and the blue muddy one is another fellow FTE buddy, we were at the swap meet and spotted it at the same time.

Bignasty you have a standard (in my area anyway) cattle/brush guard, do not see many around NOT in a sad, used, beat up condition.

I believe they are hard to find and a repo would be a great idea to me, of course I have 3, so I am sure my vote does not count.

That was one if not the first thing dad added to his truck. The stack pipes soon followed. To my total surprise, this guard is in pretty good shape. It has been sitting dormant on my lot for at least 10 years and it sat for at least that long before. If I didn't have that on I would surely get something on it..Deer do all kinds of damage to vehicles.

I know my truck is a 2wd but I'd still love to have an oem style one for my truck. The oem ones are very difficult to find, I've never ran across one before in my local junkyards. Most of my local junkyards have a good bit of dentsides too.

My 78 has the OEM guard, and my 79 has goal posts. Back in the day, I had an aftermarket on my 79. I like the OEM style better.

But I don't have a use for one at this time.

Another thing you have to consider is which bumper. 73-77 or 78-79. I"m glad Hio drives a 73!
Doesn't anyone still make the aftermarket brush guard style brand new? Regardless those things are everywhere I wouldn't bother with it, just my opinion. I will take a 73-77 catus pusher for sure. I've been looking for a long time and I cannot find one.
73&79 F-250, that picture of the silver truck going through the mud looks great.

Yes there is a few places that still make them for our truck I forget where I seen it, but you can still get them.

I like the cactus one too personally but my truck is getting the 'Heavy Duty' Look with a big custom winch bumper, so I plan on making my own mayne but if one were to reproduce them Cactus pusher.
