2007 F250 v-10, does it have plow prep or not?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking into purchasing a truck and can't quite tell if its got the plow prep group on it or not. I'm also curious as to what rear gears it has..

Heres a link to some specifics on the truck.. Any help or opinions would be great!

Paul Burns Family of Dealerships, Langhorne and Fairless Hills PA

I'm going to get an Oasis in the morning unless someone can help me online.. I'm just curious now.. FYI, when I was on the highway, running 63-65mph, I'm right about 2,000 rpms. That should play into what gearing it has. Vin # is in the link..

Here's the original window sticker, 4.10 gears and no plow package.

Thanks for the Info... How big of an issue will it be if I put a plow on this truck? Just an 8' straight blade, nothing crazy.. I'll prolly throw a leveling kit on it.. Guessing then I'll need a heavier alternator and that will be it??

Shouldn't be any problem putting a plow on it. If you find it drops too much with the plow, you can get the coil springs for the plow package or just put air bags in.

Yes, it is definitely a nice truck. I think the price is a bit high though, but I guess it's probably marked up a little because of the low miles. I think $25K would be a good deal if it were a diesel, but for a V-10 I would say it should be around $20K.

He did and posted 4800 or 4900#.

My truck came with 4800# springs. If you are putting a 7 1/2 plow on you will be fine. If you go to 8' or bigger and travel from job to job you will want to put the 6000# springs in front. Switching them is not a big deal at all and can be done in a couple hours. The ride is slightly stiffer, but it is a truck. No other changes need to be made. I think they even make 5200#, which would be good with an 8' plow.

I have a Boss 9'2" vee.

So he did, I swear I'm going blind, that's the second time this week, lol, I've done that I think an 8' plow doesn't even weigh in at 1000# total

I'll either go with a set of 5200 front springs or perhaps a set of firestone ride rites. My plow shop also sells them and prefers those over timbrens due to the ability to change with the seasons.
Got a copy of the Oasis report and it came back with only 1 issue back in 2007 with 23k on it. Some kind of throttle sensor was cleaned but other then that nothing..
I towed with the truck today and it pulls great.

I'm a bit concerned though because I found some oil in the spark plug "galleys on the passenger side, cylinders 2nd and 3rd from the front or fan end of the engine. Dealer is going to look into that plus my mechanic is going to inspect it on Tuesday.. It's going to suck though having to go through the weekend with out the truck. I'm already getting a mod list together for it! Thanks for all the insight and help! Keep the comments coming!

The price is inline with what it should be considering the area, truck, condition, miles and etc. Its not too far from me actually. Looks nicer than the 08'up trucks IMO. The 6.0l trucks are a dime a dozen on lots around here, V10s are not.

Thats not a common problem. For the most part all years of V10 trucks are very solid. Its possible it could have a bad valve cover o-ring or something.

I checked with kbb, nada and edmunds.com and the price seems inline for the area! I wouldn't think the problem would be a valve cover gasket because the oil is puddling just below the coil pack area in the individual valley area. Passenger side of the engine, 2nd and 3rd plug from the fan looking towards the cab.

Dealer is sending it to get looked at and get it corrected. I'm trying to locate a diagram in my chilton of the cylinder numbers and respective locations so I'll know what # cylinders have the problem..

I think I just found it.. Its the left side of the engine, so it would be the #'s 2 & 3 cylinders with the issue.

Its hard to diagnose without looking at it. I hope its something simple like a valve cover o-ring and the head gasket isn't leaking. The COP boot does provide somewhat of a seal to the plug recess but its not perfect. You can see the pic below to see how the valve cover sits on the 3V V10. The pic is of the drivers side but you can get an idea what it looks like.

When looking at the engine from the front of the truck the cylinder numbers are 1-5 on the passengers side (left) with #1 being closest to the fan (front of engine) and 6-10 is on the drivers side (right) with #6 being closet to the fan. (front of the engine)
