electronic speedo on the darkside

Fellow darksiders, I`ve been doing a bit of research on oem electronic speedoemters and can`t realy find proper info on this subject, just wondering if anybody here has swapped in a newer mustang cluster 1994 and up, from what i have read is i can use my 2 wires from my aod transmission vss sensor and hook it to the appropriate leads on the cluster and it will work??? sounds a bit too easy?? any info would be apreciated!

I used an Autometer speedo with 4R70W trans from a 1995 T-bird. Autometer thought the sensor in the trans would work but I had trouble with it. The speedo would start jumping way up until you got about 40MPH and would settle out and be accurate. It jumped so far until it had the needle moved way off. It read 10MPH sitting still. I sent the speedo back and they sent me a new one but it still did the same thing. I found out that the sensor in this transmission would not work with the speedo. I did find the right sensor fron Autometer from another source for Ford transmission. After I ordered the sensor and installed it,I was very please that it worked fine after I calibrated it. I don't know about your situation but hope it works without to many headaches. It sems to me that using a Ford speedo and a Ford sensor that it should work.
