Big Job Number Help
Am looking at a 57 T700 Big Job. Can't tell for sure if the first VIN digit is a 1, I, or T, am assuming it is T. Anyway, VIN is T(?)70N7U34982, date 22F, trans U, axle 16, GVW 28000, 172hp @ 3600, DSO 440202. Exactly what Y block did these things have? How hard is it to find brake parts? Thank you in advance!

N = 302 Lincoln derived Y block. This is not the same engine as used in a Lincoln.
7 = 1957.
U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.
34982 = 1957 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.
22F = Assembled June 22, 1957.
U = With a 302 = Clark model 250-V3 5 Speed Direct.
16 = Eaton model 28MR Rear Axle / 7.79-1 / 28,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.
440202:
44 = Twin Cities MN Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
0202 = Domestic Special Order number. The truck was ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."
You may have trouble finding original wheel cylinders. I may be able to locate NOS originals, other brake parts that NAPA will not have.
Get the parts cluck at NAPA to look in their paper parts catalogs, as I doubt any of these parts will be listed on their computer.
