Anybody know if tunes could be added using an iPad or iPhone. I don't own a laptop and have a f-6 chip on its way. YAHOOO!! Should be here this week. I haven't asked DP tuner themselves yet I figured I would see if anyone here has done it. I guess I could haul my beast of a computer out to the rig if I have to, or just get a cheap laptop for tuning the rig. Another ? Can a laptop be used for onboard diagnostics? Like plug it into the truck and run a diagnostic program while driving?? Just curious. Bein able to plug my phone into the truck and add tunes or adjust tunes when adding new mods would be SICK!!!
You could use the laptop for diognostics with a program like auto enginuity. Not sure on the I products. I know my program AE can't be run off of the I products.
DANG!! Looks like a small laptop it is, soon i will have more computers than underwear. Would be awesome to have an app for I products to do that. I will contact DP and see what they say about the possibility. Thanks fellas
Its more then likely a win based program. And the hardware to make it work with an apple product would be outrages. Like to the tune of buying a used laptop just to transfer tunes with.
I saw one called nova scan that seems to have realtime diagnostics and a wifi adapter that plugs into the obII port. Anyone used this? For the app and adapter its about $100. Little off the original subject of updating tunes but figured I would ask.
There are a few OBDII wifi adapters and apps that I have found. Our trucks run the OBDII port right? It has map readings, speedometer, tach, boost, and a bunch of other crap. Curious how accurate one of these would be or if anyone has used on. I might just try one and be a test dummy. Lol
For the money an aeroforce scan gauge isn't much more. And we know it works with a good data rate. In playing the torque on my android. The adapter doesn't transfer data quick enough.
Do u have to have the adrenaline in order for it to work? That's what it looks like. I figure sine my iPhone is always in the truck with me, might as well find a way to use it to get real time diagnostics/readings.
Does he have a rig like ours. I don't see our trucks on the list. Pretty awesome u can use your phone as a scan tool instead of paying a mech to simply plug it in and tell u it's a $20 part. I am like a kid at Christmas waiting for that f-6 chip!!! Ha ha ha.
