1965 Cruise o matic rear seal/Trans code
I have a 1965 F250 camper special, 352 automatic all original. Trans code on door plate is "G". Is it a cruise o matic? Axle code is 24, is this 4:10?
Also it leaking trans fluid where the speed o meter cable goes in. Is there an o ring in there that can be changed? Also leaking a little at the rear seal where the drive shaft goes. Do I need to remove the short tail stock to change the rear seal or just the yoke and big nut and pry it out? I called the local parts store and got a price of anywhere between $2 to $30 for the rear seal. Does any one know the correct part # for the rear seal?
I'm 90 % sure I have two leaks after cleaning the area many times over about a week and driving the truck daily. Thanks for any help.

You are correct that transmission code G is a Cruise-O-Matic for your application and transmission code 24 is a 4.10 ratio in a non limited slip Ford 9 inch rear end. I looked in my '64 - '72 Ford Truck Master Parts and Accessories manual and found the following part number (good as of 1975!) for your transmission's "Seal, Transmission Output Shaft, Oil":
B3TZ-7A011 - A. I did not see an O-ring in the picture, but my (frequently faulty) memory tells me there is one at the end of the speedometer cable where the gear is attached, where it enters the transmission housing. If you can get hold of the aforementioned manual, there is an illustration of what you are talking about in Section A70, page 2. Hope this helps.

One had to know which trans came with what engine.
G examples = 1965/67 F100/350 352 = MX Cruise-O-Matic / 1965/72 F350 300 I-6 = MX Cruise-O-Matic // 1965/67 F100/250 240/300 I-6 & F350 240 I-6 = C4 Cruise-O-Matic.
TCAA-4676-A (replaced B3TZ-7A011-A) .. MX Output Shaft Seal / Timken part number: A-1205-G-683 or A-3366-V-126 / Obsolete
87036-S94 .. Speedometer Cable O-Ring / Available from Ford.
Some Passenger Car/F100/350/Bronco/Econoline applications: 1951/70 2 and 3 speed Ford-O-Matic / 1958/67 FX & 1958/72 MX Cruise-O-Matic / 1964/81 C4 / 1966/97 C6 / 1969/85 FMX / 1980/92 AOD and etc.
