Suggestions for scrapyard fuel system for efi
So to get my 4.6 intercepter to run in my 56 I'm probably going to use the Telorvek harness so I'm collecting all the periferal modules, sensors, switches, etc. that the PCM wants to see from the scrapyard. Not a lot of choices up in my neck of the woods. I have most everything now but a gas tank that will fit the rear/under bed frame area preferably complete with high pressure pump and sender. What I've seen so far is too wide. Any suggestions? This IS a budget build. Splurging on the harness! Thanks in advance.

Look about quarter of the way down this page for "Fuel Tanks".

Looked at the tanks on the FAQs page but not seein one that lets me use an in the tank OEM style pump/sender. Haven't had a chance to look at aftermarket stuff yet. That's probably my best bet.

The tank would be the major piece, everything else is gravy.

I'm running a 1972 Mustang gas tank, 1972 Mustang sending unit (that's supposed to be 73/10 ohm-make sure you can locate a gauge that matches the ohms and works for you) and a 1995 Mustang GT fuel pump and hanger assembly. You'll have to bend the hanger slightly to make it work. Everything seems to be working fine, but I really haven't had the truck on the road to be sure that the pump is bent correctly. The other downside is that the tank isn't baffled and as long as I'm not down to my last gallon or two on a steep incline, it shouldn't be an issue (I always fill up when I pass 1/4 of a tank). The set-up also uses hosing/tubing sufficient to withstand the pressure. I went with nylon line and quick disconnectors at the pump and fuel filter. Altogether, I have about $300 in everything mentioned above.

Hi Tom this is a 77-82 Chevy Van 22 gallon tank that used the factory Lightning pumps. My friend integrated the intank pump into this one and use the other one on the rail. I would be of the opinion that a Lightning has higher fuel pressure than an interceptor motor. His truck is up and running. It goes from 30 to 105 pretty quick. Im a surviving living witness

I built a 5.0 EFI '68 Mustang for my wife. What I read suggested using a late 80's F150 frame mount fuel pump. Instructions said "may require in-tank pump."
I don't know if it is the fact that it is mounted about 2" below the top of the tank or pulling through the filter, but I had some vapor lock problems at anything over about 60 mph.
Currently I have a low pressure external pump mounted at the approximately the bottom of the tank feeding the hp one.
I just haven't managed to convince myself to drop the price they want for the modified tank and pump assembly.
Walbro 255 maybe?
