1962 Econoline transmission seal - output
Well this didn't take long. I need to replace the rear transmission seal or extension housing seal. The old one is leaking around the driveshaft yoke.
I have been to Rock Auto and several other suppliers to find it. They all seem to be selling the same one. National 470059 desc.:Oil Seal; Nitrile Seal, Shaft Size=1.5", Housing Bore=2.374, Outer Diameter=2.378, Width=0.5in
The other options all list a 1.5 shaft and OD of 2.378.
Doesnt fit mine. My driveshaft yoke measures approx 1.360" and my OD should be 2.240" (approx). The old seal has the Ford logo and C/R, which I assume is Chicago Rawhide. No numbers. I searched here, there and nearly everywhere to see if anyone else has had this issue. Needless to say....I didn't find anything.
I may try Greene tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath.
I would appreciate any suggestions! Thanks
Sure would like to drive this in March!!
