Might have figured out why Michelle has the "Ford smirk"

Here is what Michelle looked like, a couple weeks after I bought her...

Notice the nice straight bumper...

And here it is, now...1 yrs later...

This is AFTER straightening the bumper mounts out...

Once the bumper was completely off....I noticed it honestly does curve but not that severely.....

And upon a close inspection, my Radiator Support is fully rotted away...Not even touching the frame rails...

So my guess is that since the frame hasn't got anything to secure it's self to...It's twisting with the frame flex, and thus warping my bumper repeatedly....

Anyone else have any ideas?

The sides are fine...

it's where the support actually bolts on...There a good 2" all the way around each bolt...

Humor me, the next time you have the chance. Stick a jack under the left front frame rail as close to the bumper as you can and start getting that corner up in the air. I have a feeling the bumper will straighten out as the LF corner starts to rise.

I won't say that a rotten core support doesn't help frame strength, but I have a hunch that there's something catastrophically wrong in the LF suspension, such as a broken spring or spring mount.

Never saw a bumper do THAT before!

Well, my theory makes sense to me...Since it WOULD give the body/frame rigidity...>Otherwise, it'd flop and be everywhere...

A rotted core support alone would not distort the bumper like that. The crossmember that the engine mounts to holds the frame very rigidly in place up front. So unless one of your front frame horns is completely broke, a core support being rusty would not make your truck look like that. My truck looked like that after I got stuck in the mud and had to put a chain around one frame rail then pass under the bumper.
I would jack up the front like Pat said and inspect the frame rails.

THis is a recurring thing...i've straightened the bumper out about 4 times...

And everytime, it's the actual frame mounts....

Wow. My friends '95 broke the frame completly on the passengers side just in front of the shock/spring tower. We don't know why either. He's never hit anything and it's not like there's a lot of wieight sitting on that front corner.
I hope that's not what's wrong with your truck.

I've went over the frame previously..For stress cracks, etc...And nothing..

Stress cracks in the frame, near the Power Steering Box is quite "Normal"...But I have none...

Before I replaced my core support, the only thing I noticed was the front end jumping around loosely over large bumps in the road, or driving on gravel roads, etc. Mine was also completely rotted away. Must be something else going on with yours...

I agree with what's been said about the core support not having anything to do with the bumper.
