please help with starter wiring for my 1993 f-150

hey guys i have a 1993 f-150 it has a 300strait 6 but not anymore we put a small cummins diesel motor in it. i am to the point of trying to get it to turn over. i have everything hooked up from what i know. now since i dont have the strait 6 engine in it i dont have any of the motor harnesses. now whenever i push the clutch pedal in (the truck alwatys been a 5 speed stick) and turn key to turn motor over I am not getting any juice from the ignition switch to the small post on the solenoid. do you guys have any tips or suggestions of any wiring diagrams that can help me figure this out? I thought maybe the switch on the clutch pedal rod went bad but i even tried to jump wire it and still same thing. please help me out. i used a test light while my dad pushed clutch in and held key into start position and the small wire going to solenoid didnt have any juice. is there anything i am missing? i didnt think that wirng ran into the engine harness insttead figured it jsut ran in the harness with front clip light wiring and what not. please help me out i am very frusterated.

Not an expert but will do my best. When key is turned to the start position, power goes from the ign switch (bolted to steering column under the dash) to the clutch safety inter-lock switch (at pedal) and then to the fender mounted relay. However it is fused, I think, so maybe check that fuses are good.
To get the starter running you can always jump from battery pos terminal to the small post on the relay.

well i know there is a hot wire getting down to neutral safety switch (well clutch pedal switch i should say. but i even tried to jump it there an still nothing to solenoid. i do know that if i jump across the thermals of the solenoid the motor will turn over. i just cant figure out why i am not getting juice to the solenoid.

Some wiring info from SeattleFSB for a 1995, should be very similar to your 1993 F-150: http://www.supermotors.net/registry/media/900268

Just curious, There is a different starter for an automatic then a standard, the nose is longer on one then the other. Can you compare the old starter with the new one?

As stated above you may have the wrong starter. But as you requested...
