Seriously, best thing ever. Runs slower but I use the 2.5gal amsoil jugs which just clear on my stock 4WD. put it under there and flip the valve then take the filter out and get the new one ready. By then I slide back under the truck, turn off the valve, slide another jug under and let it finish on it's own. It is a no glove oil change.

it's great for taking samples mid oil change like is recommended and also I can take samples between changes to see if they recommend even longer intervals.

I was completely debating the 20something dollars for it but now it's a no brainer.

I just did the 1st change with the Fumoto in place. The cleanest oil change in history. I got a sample for Blackstone as well. Mid drain shut off the valve, place the sample bottle and open the valve. When full shut the valve off and reopen when the bottle is clear. Not a drip anywhere!

I have them on the block drains also.

I will be placing Fumotos on all my cars from now on.

I just went to the 6.4 pan this go around and with over 160k I'd rather over service it a little. I don't always make it on the 15k sometimes closer to 20k. The 6.7 interval is 150k, would you follow that? Probably not. Alot of the interval recommendations from Ford are derived for keeping the yearly maintenance costs down on their vehicles. New cars are lifetime on trans service. Unfortunately for owners the filters/pickup don't hold up and fail followed by the transaxle (Ford Escape).
Also with my services I drop the pan for inspection. (After all it comes with a reusable gasket) I run it for 10 seconds to pump out more fluid & I blow out the lines utilizing the rubber hose by the radiator. I also use my Vacula to suck out the lines. Easily get 12-13 qts out by doing this. I usually get out more but was pressed for time this afternoon.
I also have a fluid sample on the bench to send out to the lab.
For Trans Temps pulling 8% grade @ 50mph with 21.5k gross comb.(9.5k truck & 12k 5er) it hits 180's but once leveled out its usually 160's. Temp has never been a concern for me on this Trans so I don't constantly monitor it but from what I remember they were my numbers.
I think we've had ours almost at 200, but that still is reasonable in trans temp terms -- towing heavy on a slow uphill twisty road on a hot day as I recall.

When I switched to the 6.4 pan and filter I had already bought a couple toilet paper rolls, so did one then, and figured I'd do another dump-n-fill after 25k and the last TP roll goes in, and then another 25K no more TP and I'll change the internal filter -- probably then do 25K dump-n-fills with 50K internal filter changes from then on. So, like a lot of folks: over maintain and we feel better if nothing else...

Just got a P012F on a long run so did a flush and ordered an oil cooler and EGR delete. Had a blast with the mini picking up the EC-1.

Also heard the fan come on going up a steep climb towing a trailer afterwards - not heard it for so long I was wondering if it was still OK...

This evening had a look at some LED lamps and ordered an upfitter kit to switch them.

Busy day for us both!

Hey Sean did you start a thread about this? That would be awesome to follow. This is very cool, I would love to do this some day.

After 6+ months of working on the o'l girl I Finally got the chance to take her on a bit of a road trip. Only 450 miles today.......

Thanks to all on FTE for the help and advice, Prairie Performance Diesel in South Dakota for doing the head studs & oil cooler, Tony for the tuning and my wife for not strangling me after seeing the check book ........

She ran well all day long, unloaded with the cruise set on 70-75 mph. I finally crawled out of the bad MPG hole (11-12 mpg) and made it to 15-16 MPG range on this run - not bad for a dually at 2250-2300 rpm. Can't wait to take the 5th wheel on a road trip.

I installed my '14 tow mirrors and ran the extra wires needed for the power fold and telescoping features. Visibility is awesome. I'm not sure if I like the all black though. I kind of miss the chrome caps of my stock mirrors.

How difficult was it to wire up the fold and telescope features? Did you add a custom switch or button for each?
