Asked about exhaust in another thread and not seeing a lot of options,
so let's move on to the interior !

Could not get the usb to play/import either from my Sony bloogie video recorder or from my external usb hard drive...

It knew something was there,
but said something like "Did not find any media to play" or something like that...

will it only read usb sticks ?

And how do you tell how old the maps are as this weekend it wouldn't list any poi's I was looking for...

The hard drive may need to be formated in fat32

 

It will read from USB thumbdrives, But usually needs to index them before it will show a list of whats there. I wonder if it needs to index your hard drive?

You will see the indexing progress on the bottom center of the screen when it is indexing and after it completes the index you can choose the Library on the far right to see what is in the list. The Library button is usually shaded out until the indexing is done.

 

I did notice the indexing and I'm just not patient enough to let it index a 1 TB external drive

will get the old thumb drive out and try that - thanks for the insight...

And when I try to do the text thing - it rejects my BB 8530... anyone else had any luck with BB's ?

 

The poi thing is hit or miss. I usually have very good luck with it finding hotels, restaurants, and hospitals (for work). When I look for a retail store if it is not wal mart or home depot then good luck.

Sometimes I have to find a landmark that I know is near where I want to go.

It is also very good with gas stations and fuel, pretty solid system in that you can tell if most places have diesel or gas only.
