I just have the ambition to try doing this. If it works out then cool! If not...well at least I tried and I can always buy fiberglass, but this is more rewarding in the end. And your are correct on the part about not ever realizing that I could repair this stuff.
I would never have tried this without the guidance and visuals from guys like
ROCKCRLN and others on here.
I don't have the skill level or tooling to do it perfectly, but can make do with what I can afford for now.
There is more than one way to skin a cat, my knife isn't very sharp, but I will get there. Sorry Kitty...

My dad always said, "If you can't do it with conduit, you can't do it."

He used conduit for many, many projects. I can bend conduit fairly easy, I have to do it occationally for my type of work, but my dad was an electrician and seemed like he look a situation, take a rough measurement, grab a piece of conduit, bend it up and it fit right in. I fairly good, but not that good.

I used a piece of 1/2 conduit for make a bead on my '37 Buick. First I bent the conduit to the shape of the lip then split it in half so I had two mirrored pieces, one for each side.

I would agree a nice demostration would be nice but I sense a hidden agenda here

Looks great jeff . It's kinda fun isn't it . And if you're not happy with the results you can always pay someone thousands and thousands of dollars to do it for you .

You guys are in luck. I'm renting spaces at Truckfest so all of you can set up demo booths! $50 per space... you better get your reservations in early! But seriously folks... I've told Jeff if he'll trailer F321 down here we'll all look it over...

Bob, I am curious - how did you "split" the conduit in half? My axe just isn't that sharp. Seriously, how did you split/cut it?

I drew lines.with a permanent marker down the center, top and bottom and cut along the lines with an air angle grinder. I then used a flap disc to remove.the galvanized coating inside and out.

Oh, come on - a lot of us would like you to fix our fenders so that you could get more practice. Practice makes perfect!
