2012 Super Duty 6.2l Question

Just picked up my new 2012 King Ranch 4x4 250 and went to install my corsa cat back exhaust I ordered a few weeks ago. To my surprise the exhaust looks a little more complicated than the 2011 gas motor. There are 2 cats coming of the exhaust manifolds, they y into one large muffler then there is a can about 6 inches long and 8 inches around and it feeds into another large muffler. Long story short, the corsa is not a match. Does anybody have any info as to what the changes are and what they 3 "mufflers" are for?

thanks,

I assume this new KR F250 is the 6.7?

Nope, it is a 6.2 gas motor with the CNG prep package.

Does the CNG prep package maybe change some of the exhaust?

Or perhaps they sent you a kit for an F-150 with a 6.2?

bradley - Skip on down to the 6.2 section - there are some guys that have put on exhaust like your talking about... THey are pretty savvy about the exhuast systemm... I drive one & know what your talking about but I wouldn't want to advise on the corsa system..

Do any of the pictures in Scrming's thread below help? I don't know if anything changed in the exhaust setup between the '11's and '12's but the propane prep may have caused some changes.

EDIT - Byram beat me to it.

I spent half an hour at my local muffler shop going through all the catalogs, and found a Flowmaster style muffler with 3 inch in and out, and offset like the stock (third) muffler. With a short extension to the existing tailpipe it fits in very nicely, and gives the truck a nice rumble at idle and no drone on the highway. And much cheaper than an aftermarket solution.
