94 F250 After market Ignitions Switch Help
Hello,
My buddy lost his keys while out plowing and he decided to destroy his steering column to get the truck started. Genius I know but at any rate I told him I would replace his ignition switch if he painted my daughters bedroom. I thought I had the better part of the deal until I actually saw the destruction he did to the poor truck. So what was a fairly straight forward swap has now become a mystery to me. So what I am trying to do is install a generic after market switch in the dash somewhere. What I need is help identifying the correct wires which I believe are 12v, ignition, accessory, and starter. I have looked for a diagram but I cannot seem to find a simple enough one to figure out. Can you guys help? Thank you in advance.

+1 on the new column. If you want to go with rigging up a in dash switch, it should be pretty easy to figure out, the switch is actuated by a rod and is on the top of the column, down under the dash. Unbolt the column and let it hang down so you can access the switch easier, then unbolt the switch from the colmumn. You can slide the switch with a small screw driver to move it through the positions and figure what has power when. I guess you could either wire up your switches and hack up the harness or just leave the switch hanging by the wires and give your buddy a pocket screwdriver and tell him thats his new key.
