I have a cali 97 5 speed if the split shots push 130cc should i leave them stock and tune it or get better injectors and the ts chips dont work on cali trucks it fried my ecm should i send it to dp tuners and have them tune it for injectors and a 140 horse tune

The info in post #4 above is very good and I guess it applies to your 97, but you might wanna ask on the OBS forum for better advice.

If you live in a smog county of CA the TS chip is illegal, but it will work fine. Pull it off or hide it at smog time. Set of AC injectors, T500 and a TS or a DP tuner switch with a few tunes would be a really nice upgrade for your truck, but there are prolly some other supporting mods or repairs needed to get the most out of them. Just slapping a 140 tune on the PCM is going to be way too smoky to pass smog and run way too hot to tow anything.

You must of left the keys in when you installed the chip. That can happen on any truck. I won't put split shot injectors in a 97 truck. You have single shots stay with them. Put the AC injectors in, have your tunes tweeted and love your new power.

Nice to be pre-smog. Agree with Chet, except new ACs plus the new tunes and switcher, and then maybe a T500 hpop to make full use of the bigger injectors adds up to serious coin as well as serious power. Simplest and cheapest would be flash a tune on the PCM with an Edge Evolution or similar programmer. That will be a nice boost over stock power with your current injectors. Depends on your budget and goals. Also depends on your PCM; is it fried now, or is it fixed already?

Cali 97

My truck is a one year made California 97 5 speed and one post says stock cali trucks have split shot injectors and im sendin my computer in to be rebuilt cause i cant find a new or used one anywhere in the world ive looked EVERYWHERE and one of the posts said that the 97 cali split shots are 130cc how do u get them to push that much and tune them in like aftermarket ones and what is t500 hpop and i need a upgraded fuel pump and 4 inch turbo back exhaust and s and b intake and guages and i want a custom tuned computer with switchable modes like a ts chip but those dont work on cali trucks my code is a jka3 and dpc-311 thats the only computer that will work in my truck and ts chips dont support that and i want it to be able to roll insane amounts of coal when i want to but its stock right now what would be the best things to do to it first to make it faster and roll hella coal i heard u can do a map sensor mod to make it fool it to push way more fuel cause its fooling the boost

Yeah, that's the end of this 2 year old thread mine.

Cody, God heard you, and he wasn't too busy, but he asked me to take care of this little thread due to your entreaty.

Stewart
