S&B intake on 6.4 question

I just got my S&B intake delivered the other day. I opened the box and was surprised to see it's in like 50 pieces. (maybe an exaggeration) I thought it would of been more assembled. Anyone that has one of these on their 6.4, how long does it take and how much of a pain in the @$$ is putting one of these on? I also got my XRT pro in and my down pipe back exhaust. I'm trying to figure out if I should do everything at once, or do the intake on a different day.

do the intake first.. Follow the directions that came with it.. they are pretty straight forward.. it should take you no more than 30 mins.. just double check all your work.

Same here it takes about 30 minutes.

Do not and I mean DO NOT use the thread locker if your kit came with it. When you tighten with the trhead locker the next day the acrylic piece will crack.

S&B sent me a replacement and said early kits came with the locker tube. For some reason it tightened up more when heated up and the cracks came.

Thanks for the replies. Did you notice much difference over stock as far as performance, sound and mpg's go?

You will hear a bit of a sound difference but not much. As for performance, most guys tune their trucks at the same time so it's hard to tell if the intake alone makes any difference. I would say it would be negligible if any.

Intakes are very straight forward.
