20" Tire Exchange

20" Tire Exchange
My dealer told me he would exchange the tires on my truck from the Perillis to what ever I want of the same size. I have the 20" Wheels coming.
What should I choose to put on the truck. They will have to be an AT of some sort, but not a heavy AT. Most driving is on the road, but when off road I am usually way off road. On my f250 now I have the Yokohama AT. They have been a good tire, but they usually only get about 35000 on them and are not good in the rain.
Michelins?
Goodyears?
Cooper?
Bridgestone?
Yokohama?
Any suggestions would be greaatly appreciated.
By the way the dealer said that the reason the Perillis aren't lastin g is because they are a passanger tire on a truck.
Thanks

check out the cooper discoverer AT 3. I have them on my truck and really like them. they are a great looking tire. The only 20 in size they come in is 275/65/20. Here is a link to their website.

and some pics of them on my truck. the far away pics suck, but the close ones give you a pretty good look. It's a sharp tire!

Yeah I didn't really bother to check the actual size of that tire, just saw that was the only size they offered. I just checked, it is a 34 inch tire. So you might be right, that may not be an option without leveling it.

good catch, My fault. I didn't scroll down enough. We have had a mild winter too. Most we had on the ground was 8 inches and it only lasted a few days. I did get to test them a little, they seemed to bite pretty good.

The Michelin isbest you can get for these trucks in the stock size! It is what i have on mine and is like driving a different truck! Unless you need a real AT tire then the bridgestone revo 2's are the way to go.

just out of curiosity, what's the problem, or anticipated problem with the PIRELLI's?
I have owned 3 sets of Scorpions and no complaints; they take me through deep snow in Canada without having to put on snow tires, NEVER stuck and 1500 mi down the Interstate to Florida every winter, nice & smooth.
I have Michelins on other vehicles and they are great too, but absolutely nothing wrong with the 20" Pirellis from my perspective.

I have heard the reviews on the Perellis as non favorable.
Most have reprted that they do not last very long. Replacing them around 25000 miles some even sooner. The dealer said this is because they are a passenger tire on a truck and it isn't uncommon. He, also, said that Perreli has been excellent about their warranty and replacing them if needed. Of course that is prorated.
If they are an ok tire I don't mind staying with them, but If they will exchange to a different brand without costing me anything and I get more miles out of another brand it will save some hassle in the long run.

Hmmm. Dont believe everything you hear. They came as an upgraded wheel on my 2006 and I ran them 3 yrs. Liked them so much I bought another set, and the guy who bought the truck is still drivin & lovin em!
Then there they were again on my 2011 on the dealer lot---was glad to see these reliable old friends.
If you rotate frequently, they will be fine. I run mine at 40lbs and 44 with a full load or when towing a boat. Good luck!

I was not sure about this before i had my Perellis warrantyed do to light surface cracking at 14,000mi. I went to americas tire and went with the LTX MS 2's it is like driving a completely different truck it is that much smoother and has far more traction and well it far more stable! My Perellis were over hafe used at the 14,000 mark. After having both tires on the truck i would recmond to anyone to go with the Michelin it is that much better.
