1995 Ranger Slave Cylinder

My slave cylinder has gone south and I was wondering if there are brands out there that are less likely to fail. This one has lasted a long time so I can't complain but I don't know if I will be that lucky second time around with Advance Auto Parts. The original Ford Slave lasted 75k and this one lasted to 215k. I doubt I will get that lucky again. Does anyone have a prefered Ford online dealer?

I've gotten pretty good service out of the ones from Advance Auto Parts. That's normally the ones I install in my customers vehicles.

The problem is that it is hit or miss on aftermarket. I may have the original receipt maybe I can find the manufacture of the last one I installed. Pulling the trans once every 10 yrs is enough for me. I doubt the truck has 10 yrs left in it though. It is getting pretty beat.

If you are are grinding gears at times with the clutch depressed to the floor.............it could be your clutch master cylinder that is getting air bubbles in it. I replace mine on a 93 ranger and it was not the clutch at all. Just an idea.

Well the old clutch is out and the new one is in. The old one looked pretty good for 215k on it. The flywheel looks prefect. The slave is totally frozen. The original is a LUK clutch. I bought a Jap made Excedy clutch to put back in it. I will need to get a slave cylinder locally.
