suspension lift questions

suspension lift questions
I'm thinking about installing a suspension lift and have some questions. The truck it would be going on is an '05 FX4 supercab. I'm looking at the Pro Comp 6" complete suspension kit with shocks.
1. Max tire size with this kit is 35" and I was wondering if the 3.73 gears in my truck would be ok with the larger tires(the truck doesn't get used to tow much anymore).
2. Would I have to have longer driveshafts made or would the stock ones still work?
Right now the truck has a 2" leveling kit, but I've always wanted to have a true suspension lift that would give me more clearance and keep the cv joints on the half shafts at a factory angle.

I have a friend of mine who has the pro comp 6" kit on his lariat screw. He loves it. Says it rides better that it did when it was stock. I'm not completely sure what his gearing is, but he is running 35s and the truck doesn't seem underpowered to me. I'm not 100%, but IIRC you can use the stock drives shafts. I know that on the 4" kits, the stock shafts are used. I would say go for it. I have heard numerous times from several people that their truck rides better after being lifted, plus these f150s look sweet when lifted.

Will you HAVE to regear NO. Is it recommend with 6" lift and larger tires YES.
And no you will not need a longer drive shaft the lift companies have put enough time and thought into their kits to make sure they include what you need to make the changes so that the rest can stay stock with the exception of the wheels. Most 4" kits require a different back spacing then the stock wheels and I believe all 6" kits require it so make sure you factory in the cost of the wheels.
A pro comp lift is nice and you should not have any problems with it as long as it is correctly installed.

I'm running a 6" Procomp lift with 35's and 3.73's. It's not a race truck but what is on the street with 35's however my gas mileage stayed decent like this. I also added 2 inch add a leafs and 2 inch lift strut to add a little extra lift and as far as I know the T case doesnt have to be touched. I have no problem at all with this set up, would do it again and can still pull our camper with no problems. Oh by the way I have over 100k on my truck running that set up also.
