wrecked and totaled excursion

hey guys here was my 2002 excursion 6.8 v10 had 240000 miles. i was hauling a 35" boat 8000 pounds. the wreck happend on elk mountain wyhoming. we went to climb a hill and the truck down shifted started fishtailing i pulled out of it. the wind caught the boat pushed it on ice put me in another fishtail and put me in the ditch. we slide bout 100 yards. usaa totalled it with $12000 damage. did i mention that the boat msrp was $200000 https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...ictureid=92747 https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...ictureid=92746 https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...ictureid=92748

hell yes i will i wanna get the 7.3 4x4 next the excursion was the best thing ive ever owned never gave me problems

and yes 200,000 its was extremely nice boat liveing quarter full size bed shower

Gheez, I had no idea boats were so expensive. I don't know if I'd trust myself hauling $200k behind me! I felt scared hauling the stupid RV and it's nowhere near that expensive. Thank goodness everyone was alright though!

yep the steering was all messed up along with the rear axel and dif. 2 stell poles on the side of interstate hit the front passenger fender and the the rear passenger door. the colum right there at the back driver window was all messed up the running board where messe up. but all in all the v10 hauled it really good and held up forever

Glad you are ok..that is the main thing! But do yourself a favor and get a "Bulldog" tag!

does not look like it is totaled. If it were mine, I would get another quarter panel, fender, axle and straighten out anything else, make it an off road beater. Don't let it get shipped off to China to be made into crap.

Yep...definatley. See what they will let you buy it back for? You can probably but it back and get it fixed up for less than what they will give you for it. Who cares if it has a salvage title if you are going to keep it?

I agree, see if you can buy it back cheap, if you don't want to mess with it I'll take it off your hands just so us X owners can have a few more OEM parts on the market.

Glad to hear noone is hurt. Sorry to hear about the Ex, I love that color scheme. I've never seen one a solid dark blue like that.
