Best new aftermarket turbo?

Wanting to replace my turbo with a new bigger, better turbo. Complete turbo. Whats the beat brand, model etc? Its chipped stage 3. Just rolls black smoke, lags real bad. Almost as if the chip is flooding it, so i want a turbo to keep up. 185k miles on turbo never touched. Any suggestions? Ats? Banks? Godspeed? Models? I dont wanna spend a **** ton either. $1000 is about right, right? Give or take a couple hundred?

Edge programmer and factory injectors. 3.5" turbo back down pipe to 4" to 6" stacks.

Subscribing early..
Travis tends to have good input on turbos with wastegates and compressor wheels and such.

In my opinion i think you should lose the edge as they have been known to ruin our PCM's. But as far as the turbo, are you looking to stay with stock sticks?

Yea I should have mentioned that too.. If you dont plan on upgrading the injectors then there is no need for a bigger turbo.
Stock injectors cant push the limits of the factory turbo no matter the tuning.. IIRC..

Sticks? And yes thats what ive heard also. I bought the truck already with the edge. Every once in a while the truck glitches. Stops fireing for a split second then comes back. Maybe thats the pcm getting screwed? Any suggestions on tuners? Programmers?

I can get a max of 20 psi, but thats at 3500rpm full throttle. In second. An it only builds around 2300rPm. I was thinking may e the turbo is worn out?

With stock injector 20 is about normal. For the truck cutting out change the CPS ( camshaft position sensor)

Theres alot of tuners out for our style trucks.
Alot of guys on here have ran PHP, tony wildmans, DP, and Gear head just to name a few. Look at there websites and figure which one you like best.

I personaly am going with PHP when the money comes together

I ran an edge I got for free for 4 days. I hated it. Was a Smokey pig. Loud injectors and it had a weird power band. Egts where much higher. I put my chip back in as soon as the rain stopped on the 4th day. Custom tuners just blow it away.

If you want to spend a grand get a custom chip and stage ones and you'll have a truck that you won't want to get out of for a couple weeks. Ok may a little more than a grand

Travis,
Are you still running a stock turbo with your stage 2's?
