How much power do you want?

Superchargers are easier, imo.

Mustang 5.0 Supercharger

That's the first of pages and pages that come up if you search '5.0 ford supercharger kit'.

Search the same for turbo, you hit this and millions more:

Hellion 2011-2012 Mustang 5.0L Single Turbo Kit [HPS-2011GT] : Lethal Performance, Performance parts for Ford Mustangs

Note it's all Mustang related, but the basic engine is the same, you have more room in the truck, and you can adapt if you can't find a model specific kit.

If you are hoping to piece this together from jy parts, look at the kits first for what you are going to need.

You might also consider looking for a source for two or three extra motors as you may need them as you develop your turbo/supercharged motor...

Years ago it could be said that because there were literally only 2 sizes of turbines made, that the turbos would either run good at the lower rpms (less than 5000) or you would have turbo lag.........but that has definitely changes with the multi units that are available to every mfg....though there still is minimal turbo lag, but nothing by comparison that I'm referring too.

Blowers were typically known for producing excellent throttle response, typically working much better with sticks than autos because you did need to generate rpms past idle to get the boost....but they have also come a long way...especially the Eaton units......very, very low drag, and excellent boost

IMHO, I still like the feel from a blower...it just developes more seat of the pants torque than most turbos in the low rpm.....

and MPG's, well, if you can keep your foot out of it, you can also get 1 or 2 more mpg..............but we all know the functiontruth (grin)!

I dont like PD blowers on Ford push rod motors because of the shallow valley and the distributor location. I would get a 'box' style upper and use a Hellion kit. If you want a Hellion kit, I have a friend that is a dealer for them and can give you a could price and ALOT of insight on turbos etc.

Some basic questions first;
How much power are you looking to make? How much money are you able to spend? What is your truck mainly used for?
