That appears to be another very long term project to be any kind of driving truck. Very poor condition.

Is your truck really "running and driving"? I've seen the videos of the engine running, but you haven't got permanent wiring, fuel lines/tank, and refreshed brakes yet, have you?

This one looks like a long term major project. It appears it has been someone's project at least one time. Why was the project ended? You need to look at the critical areas of the frame and cab, structurally prior to making a purchase decision. JMO

Yes sir, my truck will start up one the first try, and I can drive it.. Just have to hook up a gas and run it to the carb

Wonder what the story is behind the flat 90 degree upper bed rail(s). Can't tell if both are like that, but half way looks like the right side rail has been cut off. Looks like a bad swap to me. Stu

Do you think the F3 is in better shape then your f1? Remember yours has an engine and is running.

The things I see that I think you need to know about the f3
  1. looks like someone changed to top of the bed sides like the chevy flat tops instead of the angled of the ford (Stu saw it also)
  2. No Front bumber. the one in the bed once again looks like a chevy or a car bumper.
  3. Missing drivers running board. f3's are harder to find.

You can pick up a used bed for a f1....

Stu, you beat me to it. I noticed the bed rails also. At first I thought it had the wrong bed on it but after going back and looking at the pics It appears as if someone did that on purpose. Maybe for a camper or something...

A running F-1 for that? doesn't seem like a good swap to me

Hook up the gas to what? A gas can with a hose run under the hood to the carb? Or to the gas tank behind the seat? How about the brakes? Have you rebuilt them? I think what Ross is asking is the truck road worthy or not? We need to know the specifics in order to help you. What's the story behind the F-3? Like I mentioned in your other thread, what are the specifics of the trade? In other words, is it even money, or will you have to pay "boot", etc.? You may want to link your older posts with the pics and videos of the F-1 so the others can offer you the best opinion possible.

Another very important question is are you willing to do what it takes to put the F-3 on the road? That includes the obvious of finding an engine and installing it, but also brake work, and the necessary tire/wheel work at a minimum.

Keep the F1. IMHO you're going from the frying pan into the fire with the F3. Spend the energy fixing the F1, it's a more popular model anyway.

I don't see anything worthwhile here, either. The body is certainly in no better condition, and you'll be trading a complete, running truck for one without a drive train. Keep what' you've got and just search for better body pieces as you go. Unless I'm missing something here, that's my 2c.

Remember Cody's truck has the roof rotted away over the windshield, a very difficult repair. The question is also whether it is really "running and driving" as Doc and others have pointed out. Both trucks are thousands of dollars from street-worthy IMO, even excluding rust repair or cosmetics.

I'm just amazed at the amount of rust on both trucks, I've never seen a dash that was really rusty to the point of needing sandblasting.

If the F3 has a solid cab and the owner is willing to sell it instead of trade, it could be beneficial. My thoughts were, based on the condition of what we can see, that it wouldn't be a step up. The fenders are gone and from the dash pic, you know the floor and cab corners aren't any better. And we're trading an F1 for an F3, with much less parts support so the degree of restoration difficulty is raised. There's a lot of trucks out there in much better condition that are much more usable. I've cut up stuff I considered junk that easterners would kill for. It's hard to believe people are arm wrestling over these.

I just thought about something else... Does the F1 have a clear title? where it sounds that the f3 does... what do you want to build if you get the f3
