I love mine- if nothing else, the telephone hands free sounds and works great. If you don't want it then don't use it- why bother with the expense of "deleting" it.
If there's something with the phone part of it you need help/advice with; I'd help if I could. I think once it's initially set up its smooth to use- also the pain in the *** part might be that you have the "prompts" enabled- which I'll admit is a bit tedious to deal with.

Additionally I thought the setup was pretty easy. did mine with out the manual.
I really like SYNC but I"ll agree there is a learning curve. I had trouble deleting one phone for another but eventually got it figured out. I hate to read directions( its a personal problem).
I would not trade for my SYNC - it works great with my phone - and was a factor in buying this truck - a small one but still factor. I additionally keep an 80GB IPOD I was no longer using hooked up to it permanetly and once you learn how to use the voice controls it works great in controlling the IPOD via USB.
There is a learning curve, but stick with it and go online for the tips on using it via voice controls which helped me.
