I purchased the 4" muffler, the 4" tail pipe (bent to go over the rear axle), the 5" polished tip and various hangers, clamps and size adapters online with Summit - I went new from the 3" downpipe all the way to the 5" polished tip. The only issue I had was getting the 4" mid-pipe mandrel bent (22 deg) to extend out the back. I purchased it (and a few other goodies at a big rig store and had to drive an hour and half each way to the only place that could bend 4" pipe.
If you want, I could lookup all the part numbers. I'm sure I still have the receipt around some place.

When I called Banks - I was told the exhaust kits they sell for the PS would not work without some serious modifications.
Banks only had the 3" "plug & play" exhaust for the IDI and at the time were asking to much $$.
Here are the part numbers that I used..... I looked em' up on the Summit website.
Not sure if I purchased the 4" straight pipe from summit or the Big Rig store but... getting one should be no problem.... getting it mandrel bent is another..
I installed the system at the automotive hobby shop on base... but their only welder broke down before I could fit the 5" tip.... I also used different hangers then shown in the pictures..
But I got a welder for Christmas
I just finished the fence install for my pup... so I should get around to it this weekend.. or next...

That's basically what I want also, for my N/A 7.3, just without any tips, gonna be either 3.5" or 4" all the way to the back axle, with all the stock bends of the factory exhaust.

oooPs, wrong thread ... Gonna leave it though.

Some things I don't see mentioned any longer ...
The lift pump pressure is how the IP advances for cold start, changing the lift pump pressure affects the amount of advance during cold start up.
Higher pressure more advance, less pressure less advance ...
The Cold Start Advance Solenoid either opens (off) or closes (on) the IP return port.
When the Cold Start Advance is off (return is open) the IP internal pressure is basically at Atmospheric pressure.
When the Cold Start Advance is on (return is blocked) the IP internal pressure is at the lift pump max pressure.
This is also the reason some believe you need to bleed at the injector.
If the Cold Start Advance is on, the IP return is blocked so the only way for air to escape is through the injectors ... A Long Slow Starter Burning Process! Even with the injector lines cracked.
Opening the IP return (unplugging the Cold Start Advance) on a dry system will bleed the system in just a few revolutions of the motor ... There is a reason the IP return is at the top of the IP.
Do the math.
Add up all the Fuel in the lines from tank to IP including Filter and you will see the lift pump will pump that amount in just a few revolutions ... Far less then the 20 second cranking limit.
This return system is what revolutionized the Diesel world and effectively brought Diesels to the masses ... Before the invent of the return system if you ran a Diesel out of fuel you were most likely in for a nightmare!
