2012 F-150 Questions
I just ordered my new F-150 earlier this week but there are a few things I am not certain of and find it hard to get more detailed information on the various features. I have both the booklet from the dealer and have been using build and price on ford.ca.
Here is what I have ordered:
4x4 Crew Cab Lariat 6.5' Box - 49899
Ecoboost 3.5L - 1250
Lariat Chrome Package - 1090
Power Moonroof - 1300
Max Trailer Tow - 1000
Off Road Pkg - 1200
Sony 6-Disc - 390
Tailgate Step - 300
Rearview Camera - 500
Lower Two-Tone - 400
Dest & Deliv - 1500
Fed Excise Tax - 100
Total MSRP - 58929
With the rebates and what the dealer was willing to give me the end price ended up being 51,548.
The above configuration has a 7,700lb GVWR. I was trying to add the HD payload package but it seems incompatible with many of the options, including the ecoboost engine.
One of the other things that I would have preferred to have is the power folding mirrors as well but they seems once you take the chrome package you get the trailer tow mirrors. I would've thought they'd be a part of the max trailer tow package but that doesn't seem to be the case. Either way I took both packages so I guess I'm stuck with them.
I also would've rather had the standard rims instead of the chrome clad rims but wanted the rest of the chrome options so get stuck with chrome clad rims as well. Maybe I can buy a set of 18" standard take offs on eBay or something down the road.
Another thing I'm unclear about is the 110v plug. I know in the bucket seat configuration it is on the back of the console but in the 40/20/40 I have a feeling the option is deleted, I can't find anything that says that though.
Does anyone have any good pictures of a lariat with 40/20/40 front seats?
I noticed in this forum and others that some people were upset that their trucks took longer to arrive and as a result they lost out on some of the incentives. My dealer told me that I get today's incentives no matter how long my truck takes to arrive. He also mentioned that if the incentives that are in effect at the time my truck arrives are better I can take those. I currently have 0% 60 month financing.
Thanks guys, can't wait for my new truck to arrive!

Congratulations! Sounds like a killer truck!!
Holy smokes batman that's one helluva truck. (I'd love to be able to afford something like that but I'd be paying for it 'till I'd die).

I think you got a great set of options but personally, I would have added the dual Javelin anti-tank missles and the center-mounted .50 Cal.

I figured if I was going to order a new truck I might as well get it with everything. The only thing I didn't order was the nav, I have nav in our durango and my portable Garmin is way better. Mind you the Durango is a 2005 so I'm sure the built in's have come a long way. Wasn't willing to pay $2300 for it though.
Right now in Canada Ford is offering a $4500 rebate and the dealer knocked another $3000 off. That along with 0% 60 month financing is the only reason I can make it happen.
I do find it shocking how much more expensive the truck is in Canada vs the US though.
I wonder if somehow getting a X plan pin would save some $$. Anyone know?

Do you think the dealer would allow me to use a x plan pin after the truck has already been ordered?
What sort of complicated my deal a bit was trading in two vehicles. I already gave them one of the vehicles so I could quit paying insurance on it (wasn't really using it anyway Chev 1500HD), the other vehicle they are not taking until my truck arrives.

My recommendation about X-plan is to get the code form your employer or where ever it's coming from and go to www.fordpartner.com, enter the code and play around a little. It has all the FAQ's and all the rules that Ford, the dealer and you must abide by as well as pricing for dealer doc fees, dealer transfers, sample prices on new vehicles, etc.

I ended up going into the dealer today and they gave me the DORA and also the xplan pricing for my truck.
MSRP was 58,929.00, net to me is 49,698.00
The net I believe takes into account the 4,500 rebate and the 1,000 costco cash.
I believe the net may still be a bit high as the dealer is estimating xplan price based on other vehicles they have on the lot. The won't know the exact figure until an invoice is generated for the truck I ordered.
I won't have the exact numbers for 10 weeks!
My only suggestion is that if you are thinking of purchasing a truck join the EAA so that you can get your own PIN. You will save the cost of the EAA membership plus if you have any interest in aviation they have a pretty good magazine they mail out every month. This is both for Canadians and Americans. The only catch is you must be an EAA member at least 30 days prior to obtaining your PIN.

When I do a build and price and try and add the HD Package it tells me I need to add the Electronic Locking 3.73 which is already selected or the offroad package which is already selected. Then it gets stuck in a loop.

i think you have to chose between the off road package and the HD package.
adding HD gets rid of the offroad.... as i remember it, anyway.
...edit...
Max tow = 3.73 LS rear
4x4 off road = 3.73 Electronic locker
On the models page, if you check the ELD, it defaults to the 4x4 offroad, and will not let you add the max payload
but if you check the LSD, it adds max tow and max payload, and removes the 4x4 offroad as an option.
