84 F250 oil pressure gauge.

My 84 F250 the oil gauge doesn't work, never has that I remember. Pulled the intake off, it doesn't have an oil pressure sensor on it. I assume my dad plugged the hole when he took the banks turbo off of it b/c he didn't realize what it was. But also while I was there I was going to check the EGR vavle on the back, I took that off and noticed another small hole in the valley pan behind it. The EGR valve looks different than all the other ones I've ever seen, and this other hole makes no sense. My 88 Ford and my 86 Ford neither one have additional hole in the valley pan I can find, and the EGR valve looks different than the one on the 84. Is this because its an 84 or something to do with the banks turbo that was on it? Also I'm assuming that the round thing behind the intake manifold is the EGR valve, I'm not sure though so if I'm calling it wrong tell me.

if we r talking about the same thing it is called a CDR valve similar job to PCV valve

i know its a long link but i cant seem to post pics yet see if this is what it looks like

this link is a good pic and explanation of how it works

the turbo would of drained its oil back into the engine through the valley pan and CDR would of been relocated to the valve cover when the turbo was on the engine

Mine no longer has a turbo on it. There is a hole between the CDR hole and the bell housing that had a plug plug in it that a 3/8" ratchet took out. It looked like it had been drilled out for something and thats where the oil was coming from. I decided since it didn't have any oil pressure on it, I just filled the hole with silicone gasket maker and I think that should fix the problem. My oil pressure sensor hole had a pipe plug in it so I put one on it and I think its fixed now.

This truck has a lot of blow by, but the CDR valve isn't stopped up. Are all CDR valves the same from 83 on up, the one on this truck has a lot smaller pipe on the bottom where it goes into the engine than my 86 and 88 does. .

that plug that a 3/8 rachet will fit is the bolt that holds down the rear of the intake valley gasket (i know it seems weird) there are 4 bolts up front and that one plug in the rear

i have no idea why anyone would drill a hole in

im not sure about the CDR valve being different

Yes the plug has a hole so any fuel or other stuff that falls into the valley pan can drain out the back, of the motor. Take the silicone out of the hole and put the plug back in,the hole leads to the back of the block and is intended as a drain.
