Pics of icon 4.5" lift kit?
#2
After a lot of research I went with a V/Mod B code spring change and the 4.5" ICON spring hanger kit with a 6" block. I tow a heavy trailer and wanted to be able to handle up to 1300lbs of tongue weight. I also wanted a very good ride (I see you have posted this in another thread). This rides better now than it did stock and handles the travel trailer very well (with WD hitch). Cary with CT Performance Inc set me up with everything I needed. It was not the cheapest way to go but well worth it in my opinion. The only problem I had from the taller block was some axle wrap on hard take-off when towing a 10500lb trailer (the SCT tune puts out lots of power). I installed a OUO traction bar to take care of that. The ICON parts are high quality and fit/installed well. I also went with Cary's valved Bilstien shocks (dual up front), dual steering stabilizer, adjustable track bar, drop pitman, crash bar, etc. I will put some pictures in below and can help answer any specific questions you may have. This thing just glides down the road with no body roll yet does not beat you to death like a lot of the spring lifts.

The stock Excursion is 2" lower than the stock F250 from what I understand.

I took a look on ICON's website and the only thing I noticed that is different between the Ex kit and F250 was some shock bar pins. They list all the part #'s included in the kit and the other part #'s were the same. With a all spring lift the F250 lifts do lift the Ex 2" more since the springs are 2" less to start with. In the kits the spring hangers were the same for the Ex and the F250 so the lift would be the same gain unlike a all spring lift.
If you are going to install X code springs with the lift I do not think the 5" block will be enough. With my V codes I used a 6" block and a 8 degree shim to align the driveshaft. The stance on my Ex is 1" higher at the rear wheel well. With X codes even a 6" block may not be enough. If you are putting X codes on you are most likely putting a heavy front bumper and winch on which may bring the front down a little. You will also probably want to add a adjustable track bar which is not included in the kit.
