Headers and the EGR

I just purchased a 1990 F-150 with a 351W and AOD transmission. I am in the process of adding as much bolt on horsepower/torque as I can afford.

I want to put some Flowtech shorty headers which are suppose to bolt on OE. Problem is my EGR bolts into the passanger side exhaust manifold and I don't think the headers have a place for it. I want the benefits of headers but I don't want to create problems with my computer.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

1990 F-150 4x4 extended cab long bed; soon to have 35x12.50, 6" lift, headers (maybe), K&N, and diablo chip

Headers and the EGR

You could probably get an exhaust shop to weld the EGR tube to the exhaust pipe just after the header. Just a thought....

Headers and the EGR

As long as you bought the right application, they do have the hole for the EGR valve. I had a friend that bought a set from Summit, it had the hole.

Swirk is correct. If you want to save a little cash you can get the "summit" headers which are Flowtech headers. The 351 variety did have some crazy looking emmission control stuff attached to the right header(summit sent the wrong headers the first time). Good luck.
