Wiring Harness

I have a 78 F250 4x4 supercab. I am doing a total restoration on it. I am trying to find a wiring harness that will work. I have had no luck yet. Does anyone have an idea or now were to find one? My old harness is still good but I really want to put a new one on. Thanks.

I think there are two manufactures that alot of people are using on this board, Painless and Centech. MAULMAUL has a beautiful truck he is restoring and is putting s Painless wiring harness in his truck;

He has excellent pictures and did I mention it's a beautiful truck. I'm leaning towards the Painless harness for my 77.

I checked with Painless and they told me they had nothing that would work. Do you know which one he is using? Thanks.

If it is a restoration you are doing, then peruse Dennis Carpenter Reproductions, National Parts Depot, Mac's Antique Auto Parts, or Blue Oval Truck Parts.

If your project is not a restoration, then American Autowire or Ron Francis Wiring may have what you need.

I've seen them advertised for sale but I'm guessing that becuse it's a S/cab they don't make one long enough, if it is the complete harness you want. You could oreder a regular cab and add to the rear section to make it fit, not pefect but it would be all new. Provided it's the full harness you need.

There are twelve different main wiring harnesses listed for a '78 f100-350.
Let me know the following and I'll search and see if I can find a NOS harness.
With or without gauges, with or without aux. fuel, and what is the trucks serial number?
With ford the main harness is the dash harness and goes into the engine compartment.
The wiring to the rear of the truck is a separate harness.

I'll look for the serial number. It would be with gauges and aux. fuel. It also has A/C if that makes a diff. I found the rear tail light harness thru Mr. Tail light.

The serial number is the last six digits of your VIN. For '78 it will be two letters followed by four numbers.
