I understand, I had a beautiful 1992 f150 xlt extended cab flairside with a 351 that was my dream truck at the time and my ex bitched so much about the cost of gas. I traded it in on a escort wagon,..ughhh what the hell was I thinking. I should have traded her *** for a djm lowering kit for the truck. Needless to say I don't have that truck or the ex wife. New project truck for me and the new wife has a new project husband.

WOW! There's NO rust on any of those trucks!

The green high boy in the auto show has me drooling. Man, these were good looking trucks back then.

Here is the main link for 1974, where the pictures came from: http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/show_...?d=1970&y=1974

You can also browse the other years. Pretty cool!

By '74 there had already been the first Arab oil embargo. Gas had doubled in price almost overnight! By the time these pictures were taken gas had probably skyrocketed to the ungodly price of 40-45 cents a gallon!!

Kinda funny, in the pictures, to me the Econoline van looks reeeaaalllly dated. But all the other trucks, the F's, the Ranchero, the Bronco, all look as good today as the day they rolled off the asssembly line.
Great design is timeless.
