Had an exciting trip to the parents. Main road was closed due to wrecker and truck in the ditch. Took a dirt rd. or a snow rd this time of year. Everything was fine till a huge hill came up with a bridge and curve at the bottom. First 2 runs were ok but the 3rd I came back down sideways. Hit a mailbox. left a nice green stripe across the hood(have a spare). No more dirt rds for my 1 wheel drive florida truck.

Morning to my northern neighbors!

Well it's another cold one here today...thermometer says 10° but thankfully there's no wind out there as I just came in from getting the newspaper and letting the big dog run a bit...the little dog is still curled up in bed with momma!

Well...I'll be catching a plane west in about 4 hours...gonna land in John Wayne today instead of LAX...bad thing is I'll be flying during the Giants game!...and I'm not sure the plane has satellite TV...it looks like it does...but I'll believe it when I see it!...

Go Giants!!!

Have a great Sunday everyone!...I'll try and check in later today from SoCal.

Isn't that the sand that they use a lot in glass making because of its properties?...we went to the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning NY a few years ago and they do glass blowing demonstrations...and I thought that was the silica sand they used...but my memory isn't what it used to be...

Joe.

Naturally rounded grains of nearly pure quartz, produced by processing silica sand obtained from deposits near Ottawa, Ill.; used in mortar test specimens in testing hydraulic cement
