Ideas for my front end? (updates, see post 41)

I am really bad at visualizing how modifications will look on my vehicles. That being said I am trying to spruce up the front end of my XL truck, I already added the aftermarket Harley lights and it still looks like its missing something.. I was thinking about painting the grill and upper bumper but for right now its more than I am willing to spend, so maybe it will happen a couple months from now, maybe never.

What do you guys think, how would something like this look:

On this truck??

They do make a black version of it, but I thought the chrome would look good since i have the chrome wheels?? Or maybe something pops into your mind that would look good, I have been searching all over google and just have not anything that really catches my eye..

I think it would look great. The black would blend in and you wouldn't really notice it, but the chrome makes a contrast and would go great with the wheels.

I'd leave it how it is but everyone has their own opinions and likes.

What did you do with the stock headlights? Interested in selling them?

I am actually interested in those, but I cant seem to find any pictures of them actually installed on a 05-07, seems like ALOT of people have them on 08+ and I think they look great on those.

Plus one on the leave it be.... Everyone is looking into adding chrome this and chrome that, bla, bla, bla... I've allways been one for form follows function. But this is just my two cents,

Well my bumper grill was actually backed up into by a friend of mine, he had some lumber in the back of his truck and must of forgot about it, luckly he remember before it anything touched the radiator!! But he didnt want to involve insurance so he wanted to know what a factory grill costs. Looked it up on Ford-Parts.com and it was $233 for an XL grill, he said he would give me $200 if we call it even, I cant complain about that, I even told him I may not buy that grill, he told me $200 is worth it to him and if I didnt even but a new grill he wouldnt care lol..

So what being said I got a little more serious about looking, trying to find something that would look good on my truck, I was over on the diesel form and talked to a couple members and found a pic of the "Mesh Grill". This pictured belongs to a member called "Sunday" so all rights go to him.

what do you guys think? paint the outer ring to match my metallic gray paint, and leave the mesh black? This picture is of the 2mm mesh, the have 3.5mm, 4mm and even larger, but I think I like the look of the smaller mesh myself.

I don't know. Maybe it would look better w/ the blue oval? Personally I don't care for that wide open look w/ nothing to break it up. From a distance it would look like there's no grille at all.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, maybe I could find a way to stick my ford emblem on it, maybe grind off the rear tabs and use double sided tape??

Here is a distant pic of the same rig.

Here is a daylight picture of the 4mm grill, so keep in mind the mesh is more open on this grill. It does look VERY open in the sunlight, almost like nothing is there:

After looking at the black mesh grille, I would do one of the following:

1. Color match the entire mesh grille to your truck, OR

2. Get the chrome mesh grille to accent your wheels.

what do you guys think about the one with the rivets? it looks more like a RBP grill. I never seen this one, maybe its new or just not listed before. I almost think this one might look better if I plan on painting the outer ring to match my truck..

I ordered a $29 billet insert for the lower bumper opening, and i am going to either powder coat it or painting it black. I am not wanting it to stand out, I am looking for just to help take the look away from the opening.

I seen an 08+ with a mesh grill and billet lower insert and thought it looked pretty good.
