Help indentify my distributor

I have a '93 F-150 w/5.0 auto trans. The Chilton book says my distributor is a TFI-IV, but the local shop says it not. The shop says the TFI-IV distributor has a square module on the base of the distributor near the intake manifold, my doesen't. They said Ford changed the design because the heat from the engine was causing the modules to prematurely fail. If so what is my dristributor? And what, where is the box thing thats missing? It has a flat spot where a module may have gone on a previuos designs with a 8 pin cable coming from it. Also is the "Ignition Module" in the dristributor? If so, does it come in a new dristributor?

HELP!

Wes

Look on the drivers side inner fender by the brake master cylinder. On my 93 F250 the TFI module is mounted on an aluminum heatsink about 4 inches square and bolted to the inner fender below the cruise control.

You have the later sealed TFI-IV distributor, with remote ignition module on the driver's fender just below the hood hinge/cruise servo. The only thing inside the dist (besides the rotor) is the Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP), which detects engine speed & crank location (not absolute, thought, like a Crank Position Sensor would) for ignition & injector purposes.

Why do you need to know? Is the local shop having trouble finding a part, or figuring out how to work on it?
