My dad and I both have bilstein's on our trucks, but we both went with the 7100's. We both put them on at the same time and its been 6 years and about 150K miles for both of us. My dad thought his might be ready for a rebuild so he took his truck in and it turned out that all he needed was a bit more gas. I am guessing mine are due for a top off but I need to replace my ball joints so I will wait until after I do them and then take my truck over and have the shocks re-charged.

For those not familair with the 7100's they are a compleately owner rebuildable shock and come in both a standard body and a remote reservoir and will take up to 225 psi. We both run ours at 200 psi and we both have the standard body version.

I would highly recomend the Bilstein 7100's, particularly to anyone who is not happy with their 5100's, they will be the last set of shocks you will ever buy for your superduty.

Have a set of Bilsteins 5100 for front and rear....I haul 10k construction trailer, 6500lb boat on a dual axle trailer and rock, boulders, sand, turf, etc, etc.

F-350 Crew Cab Long bed....anybody recomend something more Heavy Duty or will these do the trick? Have been waiting to install as truck has been in storage, as I have had company truck to beat the hell out of.

All opinions welcome.

Thanx in advance.

The 9000s are adjustable. I think I am going to try them out pretty soon, but then again I only have a little over 290k on the originals. So maybe I am jumping the gun a little.

update

wow this thread is almost a year old i have to say that my issue here most likely was a sagging spring i have since changed them and the shocks but those bilstines were a little bit longer than stock maybe a inch and i think they bottomed out possibbly not sure but my springs were wore out. two ranchos and x codes up frt and its better than it was new
