New 2012 Ford Expedition EL King Ranch 4x4

If you will tow with your Expedition I would suggest an aftermarket gauge so you can keep an eye on the engine and transmission temperature. The engine temperature as the one in the truck seems to just heat up to a specific point and just stays there. Even if the digital readout shows it is heating up a bit, the analog instrument gauge doesn't move a bit. It is controlled by the computer I suspect. The truck doesn't have a transmission temp gauge so that is nice to have. I use the Scangauge II and recommend it.

Sure HallTrail,
I have a newer Scangauge II in the Expy, my older one I left in my Suburban. My Scangauge II firmware version is 4.06. I have no idea if this is why mine works and yours didn't.
Here are my X-Gauge codes for the transmission temp:
TXD 07E1221674
RXF 046205160674
RXD 3010
MTH 000100080000
NAME TFT
Hope this helps. It works flawlessly with my setup.

To the OP. I see you are in Gilbert Arizona. I am in Snowflake, Aizona and over in Show Low there is a King Ranch Expedition 2012. Check out Show Low Ford and call them they can tell you if it has your options. Just in case you don't know Show Low is about a 4 hour drive from Pheonix. Good Luck with your search.

I was under the impression that Ford was going to start migrating the 5.0L and possibly the the Ecoboost and even less likely the 6.2L into the Expys real soon.
Do the new Expy's not have a trans temp gauge?
The new F-150's are experiencing paint issues as well. Some guys are reporting paint bubbling on the roof in the gutters to be more specific.
Considering the posture that he automotive industry in general is taking on warranty claims, I intend to purchase a Ford ESP on my 2011 F-150 (no issues at this time) before the 3/36 is up. This would be my strongest recommendation to anyone looking at a new vehicle.
