Right now I think Ram has the best and most common sense approach to truck commercials.

With out a bunch of mudslinging, they've simply illustrated what the trucks can do.

 

Ha, Ram has stated it is the fastest growing vehicle in the truck segment? Well when you're dead last at the bottom of the heap, you have no where else to go but up or out of business for good. They're market share is pathetic. Mean while both GM and Toyota are copying almost every feature that Ford has. Both the new GMC and the new Toyota Tundra look so Ford like on the inside and out, it's just ridiculous!

 

Spot on, Ram did lose the most market share and therefore have the most gain. They're coming strong with the eco-diesel, Penstar V-6, 6.4L V-8 eight speed transmission and the Cummins which is boasting supreme torque. Ram is under cutting everyone's prices and I think that for once they are bringing some quality to market.

 

Quality not so sure about that one. As for the Eco diesel, 8 speed auto., and the 6.4 only time will tell just how good they really are. I mean lets face it I wasn't a big fan of the egobooster in the f 150 when they first came about. But I do have to admit that little engine is quite the force to reckoned with. In both capability and durability. And at this point all the other companies are just simply trying to play catch up. I can also tell you I know a lot of people in the commercial truck segment that constantly tell me that Ford is the only company that stands behind their bumper to bumper warranties on the commercial trucks. GM and Dodge typically don't. And as far as mechanical break down is concerned Ford is easiest to deal with there to when it comes to warranty issues. The others just tell their customers that it's commercial truck and the warranty is void. I personally know a guy who owns a towing company here in Pa who has a couple rams in his fleet. 1 blew the cummins up in around 18000 miles and Chrysler said it was covered as it was a commercial truck. He ate the cost of that replacement. The 2 Ram is an 11 or 12 that has been back for multiple fuel delivery issues. They again said not covered as it's a commercial truck. Both trucks the seats have broken down in them in about 2 years time. It feels like your sitting directly on the seat frame and springs. Again Chrysler said not covered as it's a commercial truck. So again I'd have to wait and see what time will tell as far as their build quality is concerned.

 

A diesel engine they do not make on their own, so it's a Fiat / Chrysler / Cummins piece meal truck not even fully owned by an American company anymore. A new gas 6.4 L that has the same hp as Fords 6.2 L gas engine, 410 hp. They're heavy half ton has coil springs instead of leafs Ah..ha ha ha....... Now, an eight speed transmission? Well it may help milage slightly but it's shifting all the time, there's no power band with that set up and hence much more wear and tear on the automatics clutch discs no matter who's using them in their trucks. I'll take a 4 speed OD any day! This EPA pressure to make full size work trucks into eco vehicles is insanely stupid. They are trying to push milage way before the technology exists to make it a reality and we will see weaker overall platforms from all the manufacturers because of it. When you need power and strength, YOU NEED POWER AND STRENGTH! Not green warm fuzzy feelings coming out the tailpipe.

 

 

 

Indépendant I-Beam suspension was great riding and super tough as in the MR. Majestic commercial.

 

Twin Traction Beam suspension was tougher than hell. They also made a follow up commercial where they added another truck behind the chevy being pulled up the cinderblock wall, I think it was a GMC. In all that F-250 pulled three trucks up the hill in the final version of that commercial.
