Major Brake/ Front End Issue

So the yesterday i had an ABS light come on when i got home from a 800 mile trip. I was going to take a look at things this weekend but just today i'm having a terrible crunching noise coming from the driver side front wheel and it also feels like the brakes are engaging on that wheel because the speed pulsates and it will jerk to the left. Also my braking power has greatly decreased overall. My whole braking system (pads, calipers, rotors, fluid) was changed out in August. My front wheel bearings are exactly a year old.

You really need to take a look. Otherwise it's just going to be speculation. Maybe just something loose...............there I go speculating.

You are really going to have to tear into it to see. Something is absolutely not right in there.

It'll be 38 this weekend according to accuweather. Perfect for the job- no sweating in your coveralls. Seriously, there are many videos available that take you step by step through this, have you seen them? One example below:

It happens. I just had one give out at 9 months. Depending on where you got yours, they should have some kind of warranty. If not, the price for the Timken unit bearings has come way down.

So under further inspection it looks like the u-joint on that side has chipped and there is a lot of play in the axle shaft in comparison to the other side. I'll post up pics.

Yoke looks OK from this angle. Check out some more of those videos above, one of them covers this U-joint replacement. HouseDad posted some great info on replacement steering u-joints recently, but can't find it.
