It's not exactly "a box", but rather a microswitch with a wire and a connector at the end, and a potentiometer with a connector directly attached.

Earlier 7.3L SuperDutys have each component on a separate connector, the last couple of years have one, combined, connector.

It'll be perfectly clear when you get in there.

OK , took out the pedal assembly and cleaned off the IVS , put it back togeather , everything seems fine . Unfortunatly I wont find until it acts up again . LOL . Is this something that would pop a code . Is there a reader I can hook up in the truck that actualy stays in the truck so I can monitor things ? As much trouble as I've had with it I think it may be a good investment .

Thanks to everyone for there help, I will repost any news on the fix (or not fixed ) as it happns . THX GUYS

I got a bit of dust off after I bew it out . Sorry I didn't think to take photos , but Im sure glade you took some cause I knew exactly what I was looking for . It didnt seem sticky , but I cleadned it well with Alcohal and the Q-tip I used was dirty. Im sure it at leased helped .

Here's hoping for the best!

The next thing to check, if the problem re-appears, is the potentiometer.

It is supposedly not separately replaceable, but people have found a Ford gasser part that works just fine.
