Houston Diesel Shop refearl

I am looking to purchase a truck in the Houston area, specifically from Champion Houston Ford. I am going to fly in and pick it up but before I buy it I want it checked out by a 3rd party. Anyone in the area now of a good shop I could take it to that is not too far away? Thanks in advance?

Toreador_Diesel lives out that way, he should have some suggestions for you in a bit.

i don't know of anyone personally in the area, but i know a great mechanic that i use in Dickinson TX if interested, but I think TD has more connections and contacts that should steer you in the right direction for some one a little closer. this one is about 10 miles SE of houston

Toreador's on the North side of Houston. We have several other members down that direction also. If that doesn't work, call David Lott, or someone at his shop and see what they would charge to check it out for you. DI Performance Transmissions

I bought my truck from there (New). Quite a ways from Toreador and I. Careful buying used from there. I almost did, everything was all set, just needed to sign and take delivery and the truck that was in the photos vs what I was buying, was a world apart. Not saying it was a diff, truck, but the truck in the photos was MINT. The truck I was picking up, looked like it had been driven through barbed wire and a three year old used nail polish to touch up.

personally i wouldnt buy from champion. had a bad experience years ago and i got a bad feeling in my gut when i went in there. i even told the sales people, the several managers bout my bad feeling and nobody did a damn thing about it. i was also ignored, and nobody seemed interested to sell me a car. i was dressed in shorts and flip flops to test their opinions, and apparently, my day ended wif one sales fella hinting to me and my wife about "how they dont get much of my kind coming in there to look at cars". tats why they didnt know how to approach me. i was there for 2 hours and you cant figure it out. hmmmm. and another thing. "my kind"????

i ended up taking my business elsewhere. bad experience in general. but hey, tats my personal opinion. i jus hope and pray tat u dont need to be subjected to wat i went thru.

my well wishes to u. i hope u find the car u always wanted.

I bought my truck from Champion in Corpus Christi...... A month after I found I had more diesel in my degas bottle than I cared to admit.... cracked heads....

After about $7,000 later I got it all fixed. Brought it to POWERSTROKE MAGIC over by Jersey Village in Houston. Great people, they will check out any powerstroke before you buy it. I'd recommend it. Phillip and Garrett are good people. Will answer questions and talk to you. Wish I could have ran mine by there prior to purchasing it. but after the fact I know what I got now. Check them out if there close to the Champion.

Champion Ford; Let's just say that I was prepared to buy a new F250 from them and ended up purchasing elsewhere.
