Holley Aftermarket Injection

I have looked at Holley’s complete injection system and their tech support indicated the Commander 950-19s system works on the 300 l6. Has anyone used or installed this system? If you have, what problems did you encounter? Were you pleased with the system?

Price is important and I know the system can be had for 1400.00 not including the intake. The issue is the dependability and drivability of the truck over the stock 1bbl. Are there any other upgrades or mods that would improve the over all performance of the truck with the injection system?

Daily driver at least 100 mile a day!
Very happy Ford owner!

What intake is the system "designed" for? I'm running the same ('82) stock intake/exhaust. What do THEY claim for probable results? I haven't seen any posts about the Holley setup. Have you tried on the carb/FI forum? Not long ago there was some discussion of the new Clifford system (& the $1800 price tag). I'll let you know if I find anything. Seems that at any given moment there are a number of carb & FI users contemplating switching to the "other" for one reason or another - makes you wonder...

The older Holley TBI systems were junk, but the new systems are supposed to be very nice. If you are wondering whether the driveability and mileage improvements are $1400 better than a good carb and intake combination the answer is no. If you off road or something else that drives carb floats crazy it is probably worth it for the improved fuel management in extreme conditions. If you shop carefully you can pick up a carb and intake for $300 or less. Another thing that I'm wondering about is whether or not the -19s is what you really need. I don't have a Holley catalog in front of me, and the Summit catalog doesn't list the -19s, but the -23s is 650 cfm, the -22s is 700, and the -21s is 900. If that pattern continues to hold true the -19s will be way too big for a 300. If you decide to go for the TBI make sure you double check that part number, tech support do screw up from time to time. I think one of these systems on a 300 would run great, just not $1400 better than a carb.

I looked at the Holleys but I decided not to do it. I,m going to get the sytem from a c***y and install it I'll just have to make a harness and TBI adapter plate. There is a website where they sell a system based on the GM TBI for about 850.00 ready to install but I can get the system myself from a GM for about 100.00. I don't remember the site address but I found it searching for "GM TBI"
You have to have a four barrel intake for the Holley setup, Clifford or Offey, take you're pick, and from what I read the DP isn't needed with the TBIs. And if you wanted to just stay with the stock manifolds you have(why?) the system holley makes for the Jeep 258 should work fine. Its a one barrel and wouldn't be a problem to fit to the ford stock intake

I have a Pro-Jection II from Holley. It sits in a box because I had nothing but bad luck with it and Holley wouldn't do anything with it. I had it on my GMC. I was told by Holley to take it to a performance shop that they recomended, and the shop recomended not running it. Currently have a Edlebrock carb on the truck and have had nothing but good luck with it.
