Custom tuning allows you to get more then just a performance tuner. Some people within the 6.0L community have gotten a SCT in order to actually de-tune the engine tuning. Granted they are the minority, but that just gives you an idea of what you are capable of with custom tuning. Superchips tunes, even ones with options, really aren't custom tunes to a degree. There is more tweaking then just a tune and that's what you are stuck with, but they still have limitations in order to appeal to a broad range of customers.

Don't feel too bad about being persuaded by your friend. Superchips, Bully Dog (what I had before I went custom tuning on my 6.0), Banks, Edge etc. all have great ad campaigns that have their name out there. SCT, Spartan etc are neophytes when it comes to that. They have gotten better, but it's still one of those niche markets that the truck owning community as a whole do not know unless they come to sites like this.

Replacing with the GEAR BOX Z DPF-R Tuner

I ONLY needed a tuner to Delete the Filter Function.
