Questions about my IAC...

I have three questions about my Idle Air Control Valve for my 92 351W.

  1. I wasn't able to find my part number (F1TE-RD) on the internet for cross reference and I wasn't sure about the matches I found for a replacement. Any idea what I should use for a replacement? It's for the truck listed in my signature.
  2. Can the IAC be moved? Or can it be rotated 180 degrees (I doubt this can be done)? Due to the supercharger, I need to redo some plumbing and it would be much easier on me if I could move it. Picture attached.
  3. What does it do and how does it do it?

Thanks.

I can answer #3 It just open and closes 100% rapidly or as needed (duty cycle) and lets air past under that black cap and straight into intake -bypassing the throttle body plate to smooth out idle and to keep it from staling on deceleration. It opens 100% and stays open on start up and at full throttle. I know its two piece (but sold as a whole) and just a solenoid type valve. I don't know if you can turn half of it 180 (to move connector) but if you did and can, by right, it will still function the same. Its just open or closed and there is no in-between that needs to be monitored so on is on and off is off.

I dont know how you need to move it 180 to answer that.
