air cleaner assembly

Anyone know where I can find a sealed unit to replace my open element hot rod one. it's a mud truck and that open element doesn't like water!! 86 f250 5.8l with 4 barrel

I scrapped one just last week....dang...

I might be able to find one at my local JY. Maybe we could work something out.

K&N makes these special pre-filter things that go over your open element filter and keep big stuff out...I know JEG's sells 'em, and probably Summit. They call them Filterchargers, I think.

I've looked at all the local yards by me. They don't have any old stuff anymore. Even with a prefilter, water gets in pretty easy.

Water could still get in a factory air cleaner...

Have you considered running a snorkel? Probably wouldn't be terribly difficult to make one yourself and it'd keep water out alot better.

I was going to use the stock air cleaner and run it backwards towards the firewall. Maybe run the snorkel inside the cab through the firewall.
