Guage sweep to max

I have a 99 expy with 134k on her. She also has the 5.4, 4wd. My question is this. My wife left the lights on and killed the battery. After I jumped it all of the guages would sweep to max then back to 0. A couple of seconds later the normal idle and guage readings would return. I have replaced the battery but the sweeping continues. is this an electrical problem or is it related to the battery?

Your battery is flat. Flat batteries can do all sorts of weird things, hell it could even test good. I doubt it could be charged and recover, time for a new one.. GL man

That might be a poor ground at the battery. Did you clean the clamps at the post connections when you replaced the battery?
