Bilstein 5100 Shock install with VIDEO!!!

Superduty Brothers and Sisters..Here is my first video for the FTE forum. I installed Bilstein 5100 shocks and video tapped it. The front shock part number is 24-186018 and rear shock part number is 24-186025. These shocks fit a 2011 F350 Superduty (Stock, No lift or leveling)

Please don’t ask me why I said “Good to go” several times in the video! I have no idea why! Enjoy

What's the verdict on how they changed the ride? I'm thinking of switching to the Bilsteins on my 2006, but I can't decide if I should wait until I do the leveling kit (still a couple of years away).

The ride is NIGHT & DAY!!!!!
The ones shown here, the ones I installed as well, can be used when you do the front leveling down the road.

Getting mine on Thursday! I can't fit it in my garage so I"m being lazy and letting 4 wheel parts put them on.

Did you coat them with any thing to protect the chrome? Awhile back I remember reading some people having problems with oxidizing/pitting? Although here in Oregon their not allowed to use salt on the roads, just certain "friendlier" chemicals.

To be honest with you, I didn't even think of putting anything on them to protect them from oxidizing. I guess I could Fluid-film or wax them....Great, another project to add to my weekend list!

Nice job.

Bookmarking this thread for when I get around to the inevitable shock replacement.

Your sway bar thread was really good, too. I've had that on my to-do list for a while and got that thread bookmarked as well.

Good to go!

I just got back from a 700 mile road trip this weekend. The ride is 100 percent better with the Bilsteins on all four corners. I went through a 12 mile construction area on the highway that had some very poor road conditions. The road was uneven, shifted all the time and had some crazy bumps……not a problem with the new shocks. The truck just feels tighter and more responsive in the steering controls.

Can't wait to get mine. The ones that were supposed to be transferred to me got sent to Hawaii instead and now their ordering them in direct from bilstein.

As far as the coating they said theyll stay looking good for years as is.
