05 Front End conversion Help!
So recently I clipped my front bumper and grille but I saw the 05 conversion as an option. I have all the parts ready, bumper, bumper pad, grille, headlights, fog lights, hid's. Do i need other stuff like brackets? My truck is a 2000 f250 if that helps. If pics needed I can get some.

Well, the right way would be to change the header panel the grille and headlight mounts to. The bottom of the grille is lower and would not have lower mount otherwise, and then the headlights would fit right in without cutting. I thought aftermarket header panels were about $60?

I agree with you. i went to 5 salvage yards to look for a seat belt latch. I found 1 super duty in the last yard. The only reason it was there was because of an engine fire. At all the yards they said they don't see them unless they are totaled and non rebuildable.

Yeah, the problem is, most totaled SuperDuties are hit in the front end. I found one for my '03 so I can upgrade the front end during my rebuild. It did take a while, but only because I wanted one with white overspray and not another color. There were probably 3-4 at the local yards in other colors.

The headlamp mounting panel is clearly shown in the on line certifit catalog as costing $48.75 for 05-07 superdutys, so whats the problem with what I said prior?

In his original posts, he refers to ebay parts, which are obviously aftermarkets because of the price quoted , and then I quote him a aftermarket header panel, including a direct source which is priced cheaper than the ebay stuff prior to shipping costs. All the header panel does is support the grille, and is sandwiched behind the headlight housings. I suppose if he wanted oem he could have went to the dealer and paid in excess of a grand and let them source it all, Right?
By the way, every used superduty I bought had slight fender damage by the headlights, and everytime had a cracked or damaged header panel. So far I have found 1 original oem header in a pick a part yard uncracked, which I removed and bought, out of over 30 superdutys I have found in the yards over a 5 year period.

No aftermarket part has the fit and finish of OEM. No matter how simple the part aftermarket will always be a little off. If it be in fit like the header panel, I be the aftermarket one doesn't have the same gaps between the grill and headlights or bumper to grill/headlights or make the grill sit higher making it rub on the hood when shut. If not any of that I bet the holes for the clips and screws are off just a bit, filled with material, or are oversized. I also bet the aftermarket panel is also more brittle and weaker then the OEM part.
I can spot any aftermarket part a mile away.
But to each his own, if the OP wants aftermarket I am not here to stop him, just inform him. Myself, I will spend years if I have to, to get an OEM part especially for body parts.
That being said, if anyone here finds a good 05-07 SD header panel at their salvage yard and wants to be a nice guy, buy it up and I will buy it from you!

I agree OEM definitley fits best, i just did the onversion minus the bumper because of my plowing set up and it bolted up and matched perfectly, i had an issue where i had to remove and install the old panel because of the upper part of my plow pushing the panel up causing the grille and hood to hit however but my plow is being removed so its gonna go back on next spring.
