I just configured a F150 Crew Cab Lariat 4X4 with 3.5 EB and 3.73 rear end.
The payload was 1890 and tow capacity was 11.2K
My 2006 F150 has a payload of 1698 so I wouldn't gain much.
My payload is already at 2080 so I guess I'm going to go with the F250.
It will give me the payload I need and some extra capacity if I upgrade the trailer in the future.
I just hope that I won't have to add air bags to the F250.

Warning: The more truck you have, the more trailer you want. Its a vicious, wallet lightening cycle.

Check out this thread for ideas along the same lines.
What's a super crew? Does he mean crew cab or is this something different?

Great post, I think the HD F150 with the ecoboost has merit for sure. This is one area that we will see first hand on how the eb does while towing 11k lbs during our map development with our goose neck trailer and our 5th wheel camper. We will have a good comparo between our F150 Ecoboost and F350 6.2L.
Stay tuned, more to come in a month or so..

Great, 12,220lbs with max tow. Is that within the trucks limits?

Please remember, it's not just about getting it moving and negotiating the hills, it's the sudden stops and emergency maneuvers you will have to make from time to time. IMHO the F-150 is a bit too little truck for those occurrances, especially with the amount of trailer you have.

I 100% agree , thats why the tow/haul mode will be remapped for more engine braking in our calibrations. The max tow package might surprise you what it can handle its been an eye opener for sure.

Your long distance towing makes me lean toward a 250. You should crunch some numbers but I don't think a 6.7 is worth it for the weight you are towing at. I think 6.2 with long gears.

If you went 200 miles 4-5 times a year I'd say get the 150, put timbrens or air bags in the back, and keep your speed down. Too much weight to go 5000 miles behind a F150.
